Clean Toilets Project
A 2007 survey conducted in over 10,000 schools by the Department of Health for the Ministry of Public Health reported that only 15% of school toilet facilities achieved the required standard of quality, quantity and safety.  EDF strives to help needy schools meet these standards.
EDF is helping by:
  • Allocating funding and overseeing the construction of clean and safe toilet facilities using local labour.
Holding workshops that teach students about personal hygiene and health, and maintenance of school facilities to encourage a sense of stewardship.

“I was really happy with our new,
clean and beautiful toilets surrounded by flowering trees.
Now we have enough to share among us

and going to a toilet won’t be
 such a fight like before.”
