The 2nd Saturday of January is Thai National Children
Day which EDF always, in cooperation with many kind
supporters, organizes Children’s Day activities for less fortunate children in
rural Thailand.
For this year 2012 coming Children’s Day will be
sponsored by P&G Manufacturing (Thailand) and organize on Friday 13th
January at Wat Praek Nok Eieng School, Chachoengsao Province, located about 200
kilometers away from Bangkok.
The activities will comprise of games, recreational
activities and sports including free food, beverages and candies for those
children who attend. We aim not only to entertain them but also to educate and
give them knowledge through small exhibition and various fun activities.
Wat Praek Nok Eieng School, is a
small rural primary school in Chachoengsao Province and there are only 98
students currently studying in this school who mostly come from poor family. Due
to limited budget, therefore, the school could not afford to organize
Children’s Day activities by its own. EDF will also share some photos of
this year Children’s Day activities here soon.
This January, EDF also finalizes the total number of qualified scholarship
candidates for the school year 2012and the total number of eligible poor students
who are in the waiting of scholarship support for this year is 8,501 students
which increase 25 percent from the previous year.
In the occasion of National Children Day, we would like to encourage you to give “a Gift
of Hope” through EDF
Scholarship Program to at least one out of
8,501 scholarship candidates of this year which may be a gift that change a
child’s life forever.
