During 2-6/8/2008
EDF cooperates with UBS AG granted 2 computer server sets for Lao Pone Kho Lao Lard School in Sakon Nakorn Province and Kokekham None Somboon School in Buriram Province, and the 2 schools will be set up as a main server to link information related to Barter Between Brothers Project such as exchange agriculture knowledge on website. In order to achieve this aim EDF staff trained the target schools on how to use computer, website, and web board. The target schools are Baan Huay Yang School, Baan Hong Sim Prachasan School, Baan Lub Lao School and Baan Laoponekor Laorat in Sakon Nakorn Province, and Baan Samrong Kokepetch School, Baan Lak Khet School, Baan Taladkwai School, Baan Kokekham Nonesomboon School in Buriram Province.

EDF organized activities under a project called Education Technology Support financially supported by Mr. Albert Loridan. EDF provided 10 computer sets and 50 bicycles for Ban Cha Nod 1 School located at Tumbon Chanod and Chumchon Ban Bang Sai Noi School, Tumbon Bang Sai Noi, Amphur Wan Yai, Mukdaharn Province. EDF organized “Education Technology Support Project Workshop”, composed with training knowledge about internet network, register e-mail, send and receive email, attached file or photo in e-mail and search by using wikipedia website.

Scholarship with bicycles donation from  Scholarship with bicycles donation from "Bridgestone Rides the Future Project 2008" Project
During 8-10/7/2008
EDF, in coordination with Thai Bridgestone Co., Ltd., has granted 300 scholarships and bicycles worth 2,755,000 baht to disadvantaged children under “Bridgestone Rides the Future Project 2008” in the provinces of Nong Khai, Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom. Thai Bridgestone also provided the children with a campaign for raising the awareness of global warming and a training session in riding safety, as well as bicycle maintenance.

The Education for Development Foundation (EDF) and Salesforce.com Foundation surveyed the summarize of Salesforce Young Doctor Project 2007. We have visited Pariyat Paisarn school, Ban Nong Bua Tung school in Nakhon Phanom and Ban Nong Hin school, Nong Kung Wittayakhan school in Khon Kaen. According to the survey result has shown that all school projects have implemented effectively and reached to the project goal.

Project section of the Education for Development Foundation (EDF) went to survey the progress of School Grant Project 2007. The project team visited 13 schools in 10 provinces including Amnart Charoen, Roi Et, Ubon Ratchathani, Maha Sarakham, Surin, Chaiyaphum, Udon Thani, Buriram, Sakon Nakhon, and Nakhon Phanom. According to the survey, all school projects have been implemented very well.

EDF invited 25 schools that passed 1st round for an interview session where the schools could give a presentation on details of their projects to EDF’s selection committee.

EDF’s selection committee will make a decision based on possibilities and sustainability of OSOP projects before an approval to be made within the end of March.

EDF visited 2 schools that were affected by fire catastrophe in Bannoi Kudkra School, and Nongwaeng Pittayakhom School in Nakhon Ratchasima. EDF met with the foundation’s scholarship students who were about to finish the 9th grade from Porn-Pittayakom School. In this occasion, EDF also gave out pens that were donated by Sanford Stationary Co., Ltd. and Nanmee Co., Ltd. to all the 3 schools.

EDF Staff in cooperation with WAFCAT have organized “Handover Ceremony of Barrier-free Toilet blocks & slopes for the Students with Disabilities” at Baan Moo Mon School, Moo Mon Sub district, Chiangkwan District in Roi-Ed Province. The ceremony was honourly open by H.E. Hideaki Kobayashi, Japanese Ambassador to Thailand. There are 9 toilet blocks (6 toilets in Roi-ED, and 3 toilet blocks in Nongbualamphu province) handover to schools.

Mr. Sunphet Nilrat, EDF’s Managing Director was granted financial support of 200,000 Baht by Dr. Snoh Unakul, Director of the Siam Cement Public Company Limited in “2nd Siam Cement Group Sharing Love to Children Project”.

The scholarship granting ceremony was held at the Foundation for the Deaf under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty The Queen in Sethsatian School with many fun activities for the hearing impaired children, such as magic performance, pantomime as well as other performances by the children. Lunch provision was also included.

The company also provided the children with a training session on riding safety and knowledge about bicycle maintenance.
