Scholarship Programs is to support an underprivileged child to gain education in the rural areas of the 19 Northeast provinces of Thailand. We are also the Center of Operations in providing educational funds under the name of Darunee Funds for other countries such as Laos, Cambodia, and Afghanistan.
EDF development project grants will provide funding to support and assist schools in rural Northeast Thailand. With the aim of fostering economic self-reliance and sustainable development, schools will be encouraged to utilize community resources and local-based wisdom for better livings standards and income generation.
The project is aim to encourage disabled children that are living in dire poverty, but who strongly desire to develop themselves through higher education. Also, to give children the chance to develop their physical and emotional well being and be able to live normally in the society despite their disabilities.
Emergency relief projects supports victims of natural disasters. Problems that occur are numerous children losing their parents or financial supporter of the family making them experience hardship and not having sufficient amount of money to continue education.
Special projects are sponsored by private enterprise with the mission in establishing networks between schools in the rural area. The program is a community level project with the purpose to improve school lunch programs by participating schools using the barter system to exchange local agriculture products, ideas and expertise.
EDF realizes that well-qualified education personnel are a crucial part of national development. Through cross-national collaboration, we have therefore organized teacher training and education courses for Laotian teachers. The courses aim to enhance teaching and curriculum planning skills as well as to introduce effective practices for Mathematics teaching in both primary and secondary levels, so as to strengthen students analytical and critical thinking skills.
