Bicycle Project
Many urban students take their daily commutes to school for granted.  This is not the case for their rural counterparts who have to walk many kilometers on dirt roads or have to rely on crowded, fare-paying buses that run only once or twice a day.  On rainy days, these problems are compounded and many children end up missing school.  The Borrowed Bicycle Project provides a solution which promotes safety, savings and health.
EDF is helping by:  
  • Loaning bicycles to students with difficult commutes.
  • Organizing bicycle safety workshops which teach students about traffic regulations, road safety, as well as bicycle repair and maintenance.
