Salinthip, Applicant for the scholarship for students in lower secondary level, academic year 2024

Salinthip,
Grade 6, Udon Thani Province
Applicant for the scholarship
for students in lower secondary level,
academic year 2024

My name is Salinthip Tonkanya. I am currently studying in the 6th grade at Jam Pi School, Sri Tha Tum District of Udon Thani Province. I live with my parents, who work as farmers and do odd jobs.
Our old house has not been renovated, so the roof leaks when it rains. We have to place pots and pans on the floor to catch rain water. Our rice field is next to a canal. During the rainy season, the water level in the canal rises, flooding our rice field and causing our rice crops to get damaged. By the time they are harvested, the rice plants are rotten, and there are no grains to collect.

My father is disabled due to a car accident. He underwent surgery, resulting in the amputation of his right leg, and now he can only stay at home and work in the garden. My mother has to take various odd jobs to support the family financially. If she doesn't work on any given day, we have no income.

the amputation of his leg, requiring a prosthetic
.

I enjoy helping my father water the vegetables, do laundry, wash dishes, sweep the house, and fill bottles with water. When I go to school, I take the school bus. I get 20-baht allowance per day to school, part of which I save for any possible future emergencies. I enjoy studying art because it allows me to use my imagination to draw pictures. I also enjoy participating in recreational activities during my free time because it helps me improve my concentration.

Salilthip dreams of becoming a teacher so she can impart knowledge
to children. Therefore, she applied for a scholarship
to bring her dream closer to reality.

My dream is to become a teacher so I can share knowledge to children. If I receive this scholarship, I will spend it for my education.
