Hello, my name is Surasak Pongsura, but everyone calls me "Nap". I’m currently a Grade 7 student at Ban Tapieng School in Sisaket Province, Thailand.
I live with my grandmother—just the two of us. My parents work as laborers in another province and send money home occasionally. When they can't, my grandmother must rely solely on her small elderly allowance to cover our living expenses and support my education.

Each day, I walk about 3 kilometers to and from school. I receive only 10 baht (about 25 cents) for school each day.
When I was in primary school, I was lucky to receive free school lunches. But now that I’m in junior high (Grade 7), I must pay for lunch myself, and my daily allowance is not enough. This is why I’m applying for a scholarship—to help cover my lunch costs and purchase essential school supplies.
After school, I rush home to help my grandmother with chores—washing dishes, cooking rice, sweeping the house, and sometimes cooking meals. Her eyesight is poor, and she’s getting older, so I try to do whatever I can to ease her burden.
I hope to continue my studies through Grade 10 and eventually become a soldier. I want to serve and protect my country, and also earn a stable income to support my family—so that one day, my parents won’t have to work far away and we can live together again.
If I receive a scholarship from kind-hearted donors, I promise to study hard and use the support meaningfully. I won’t waste this precious opportunity.
