Preeyaporn (Cartoon), 12, EDF Scholarship Student Year 2019, Nakornratchasima province

After parents got divorced, father later remarried and lost contact while mother was forced by poverty to seek for menial jobs in another province to earn enough to support her poor family, Preeyaporn or Cartoon, 12, EDF scholarship receipientss of School Year 2019 from Ban Ba Yai school, Nakornratchasima province, and her 6-year younger sibling were ,therefore, left to stay with her eldery grandmother and great grandmother aged 78 years.
Until last 2 years, the grandmother passed away, Preeyaporn's mother had to move back home to look after Preeyaporn, her little sibling and the great grandmother. and earn for a living as menial worker in the village. Unfortunately, in the beginning of this year 2019, Preeyapirn's mother passed away from her prolonged health problem.

After the passing away of her mother, Preeyaporn, her sibling and the great grandmother had to move and stay with her aunt and uncle who earn for a lving as chicken butcher. Everyday before going to school and after school, Preeyaporn helps her aunt with all chores and in the weekends she gets up very early to help clean the chicken after butchering and bring to sell in the market. The more she can work means the more money she earn for the school allowances for her and her sibling.

Teacher Nisma who is EDF scholarship supervising teacher at Ban Ba Yai school informed that "Preeyaporn is a talented students with excellent academic performance. She has got 4.00 accumulated G.P.A for all semester. She has strong leadership skill and is loved by all her friend. She was nominated as a school representative to attend Math Contest in provincial level and won bronze medal. She is also one of a musicain in school band as well."

Teacher Nisma also added that " I knew about Preeyaporn's tough life when I made a visit to her home. Even though she was born poor and become orphaned, but she never feel inferior and give up her fate. She is always diligent on studying and be highly responsible for everything. It is worth and highly recomend to give her a support."

Preeyaporn told us that "After my mom passed away, my great grandmother, little sibling and I had to move and stay with aunt and uncle. I do not have any idea on how long they could support my education. However, I will keep studying hard so that I can have a good job and earn enough income to support my great-grandmother and little sister. If possible and if any opportunity arises, I would like to be a Math teacher because I want to teach the students to be knowledgeable. I would like to say a big that for my sponsor who provide me a scholarship support."
 

Preeyaporn was nominated as a school representative to attend Math Contest and won bronze medal. She is also one of a musicain in school band as well.
