Applying for a scholarship for students with
disabilities to attend regular schools,
Academic year 2022

Hello, my name is Wongsakorn and my nickname is Few. I am 12 years old and study in Grade 6 at Ban Som Poi School, Kalasin Province.

I have physical disability and visual impairment. Things blurry and unclear. I have to wear very thick lens eyeglasses. I live with my mother and grandparents. My mother works as an irregular worker. My grandfather is a farmer while my grandmother weaves clothes at home.

Wongsakorn has to wear a thick lens eyeglasses when studying or doing school activities.

On weekends, I often go out to help my grandfather in the rice fields. After school, I help my grandmother steam rice and wash dishes to help lighten her workload because she has been working hard all day. I receive 10 baht a day to go to school. Luckily, my school has a free lunch program. Thus, this helps me save money to buy additional food. I save 3 baht per day in the piggy bank at home for the future and in case of any emergency.

After school, Wongsakorn helps his grandmother with chores to help lighten her workload.

I like studying mathematics, Thai language and I like to draw. In the future, I dream of becoming a teacher because I want my mother and my grandparents to be proud of me. I will take care of in their old age.

I really hope that when you read my letter, you will consider giving me a scholarship to make my dreams come true. I promise to be a good boy and study hard. I will be patient and work to make my dreams come true and have a better future.
