My name is Salbiyah or you can call me Sun, and I’m currently a Grade 12 student in the Math-Science program, Narathiwat Province.
Since losing my father due to the insurgency in the southern border provinces, my family has struggled emotionally and financially. My mother, who now supports all nine family members, works tirelessly selling goods at home with unpredictable income. Despite her exhaustion and illness, she has never once complained—she simply wants her four children to continue their education.
I do everything I can to support her: helping with house chores and selling, just so she can get some rest.
At school, I enjoy math, calculations and using Microsoft Excel—it’s something I’m good at. I also love art and recently won second prize in a sculpture competition. These experiences have shown me I have more potential than I thought.
I dream of starting my own business one day. That’s why I want to pursue higher education in Business Administration—a path I believe can help me support my family and secure a stable future.
The scholarship I’ve applied for through the EDF Foundation is more than just financial support—it’s a bridge to my dreams.
Thank you for believing in the power of education and for giving children like me the hope to move forward.
"Even though my father is gone, I will never stop dreaming. I will finish school and make my mother proud."
