Growing up hasn’t been easy for me. My younger sister and I have lived with our grandmother since we were little because our mother had to leave home to work and earn money to support us and cover all the household expenses.
My grandmother is now 64 years old and suffers from chronic illnesses, so she can’t work. My mom works as a daily wage laborer and has to shoulder the entire burden alone. Her small income mostly goes toward basic living expenses and school supplies for me and my sister. That’s why I try to help out at home by doing household chores—washing dishes, sweeping, doing laundry, and cooking.
Even though life is tough, I’ve never given up on my studies. I always do my best, and my current GPA is 3.75. In my free time, I love reading and singing luk thung (Thai country music). I even had the chance to represent my school in a singing competition for junior high school students.
I am deeply grateful to the EDF Foundation for the scholarship support. This scholarship is more than just financial aid—it’s an opportunity that allows me to continue my education through Grade 9 and gives me hope to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse and helping others in the future.
